Aircraft Covering Materials - Solarfilm Litespan

You may have heard that Solarfilm are closing down. The owners wish to retire and there is no-one to take over the business. Once our stock is gone, there will be no more.

Litespan - the lightest iron-on material. Litespan is a very light synthetic tissue used in place of normal tissue/dope. It is much stronger and tougher and doesn't need dope; it is fuel proof as applied. Supplied as a 91cm x 51cm (36"x 19½") sheet. Weight 30gsm.

Litespan is designed to replace tissue/dope on models from small rubber driven free flight to lightweight power models up to 1.27m span. On sheet balsa surfaces Litespan can be applied as a quick method to make the surface paintable.

Use Balsaloc or Cover Grip as an adhesive. This should be applied to the model framework using a sponge and the Litespan covering is then ironed on to activate the adhesive.
