FET Switch Buffers
These open-drain FET buffer modules are intended for converting receiver 'P' outputs to type 'F'. The 'P' output is 0V when OFF and 3V when ON and can supply a maximum of 20mA on most receivers. Some receivers (e.g. MR603 have 'F' outputs which provide a 'switch to ground' circuit with a 2A capability.
Some receiver have no 'F' outputs, or insufficient for a specific installation. This creates a problem if you need to control 12V light bulbs or trigger a sound module. Many sound modules have more than 3V on the trigger input and this could damage the receiver microprocessor. The solution is to use one of these tiny add-on modules.
The buffer input connects to the 'P' output and the load is wired in-between the buffer output and the load positive supply, which can be up to 30V. Although designed for use with Micron land-based receivers, these FET switches can be used where a low-level logic signal is required to switch a high current / high voltage load.
