A miniature low profile rectangular loudspeaker with high power handling capacity, available in 4Ω and 8Ω versions. Most sound cards specify use of a 8Ω speaker, lower impedance could cause the audio amplifier to overheat and shut down; best to use 2 of the 4Ω speakers wired in series.

Connections are via solder pads on the rear of the speaker (see More Images tab).

A miniature 4Ω, 4W max, loudspeaker. Most sound modules specify use of a 8Ω speaker, a lower impedance speaker used at high volume could cause the audio amplifier to overheat and shut down. Using this 4Ω speaker should be OK at low volume and with plenty of air circulation around the sound module; if in doubt, use 2 of these wired in series.

This is an ideal size speaker for fitting into a 50mm internal diameter plastic tube as a baffle.
